Terms of Service

The rules and responsibilities for using the Shiply Egypt marketplace.

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shiply Egypt ("Shiply," "we," "us," or "our"). Shiply is a marketplace platform that connects customers in Egypt with independent travelers who may purchase or carry products from abroad and deliver them in Egypt.

Shiply is not the buyer, seller, retailer, importer, exporter, shipping carrier, or owner of any products exchanged between users. Users arrange deals directly with each other, subject to these Terms and our platform policies.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use Shiply. By creating an account or using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Shiply complies with the laws that apply to you, including laws in Egypt and, where relevant, the country from which a product is purchased or carried.

Marketplace Nature

Shiply provides tools for traveler listings, customer requests, messaging, offers, escrow payment tracking, verification, reviews, and dispute support. We do not guarantee that every listing, request, offer, or deal will result in a completed delivery.

Travelers who use Shiply are independent users. They are not employees, contractors, agents, or partners of Shiply. Using Shiply does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you and Shiply.

Shiply does not take title to products, does not act as a customs broker, and does not provide freight, courier, or legal import services.

User Responsibilities

All users must provide accurate information, communicate honestly, follow platform rules, and use Shiply only for lawful purposes.

You may not impersonate others, abuse the messaging system, attempt to bypass platform payments or escrow, arrange off-platform payments to avoid platform rules, or interfere with marketplace operations.

You are responsible for reviewing profiles, reviews, deal terms, pricing, and timing before agreeing to a transaction.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for describing requested products accurately, setting realistic budgets or rewards, agreeing to clear deal terms, funding escrow when required, and confirming delivery honestly.

Customers must only request products that are legal and import-compliant under applicable Egyptian and origin-country rules. Customers must not request prohibited, restricted, counterfeit, or illegal items.

Customers should respond promptly during active deals and provide information reasonably needed for purchase or delivery.

Customers understand that final product price, availability, taxes, duties, and delivery timing may change based on store conditions, traveler circumstances, customs requirements, or travel disruptions outside Shiply's control.

Traveler Responsibilities

Travelers are responsible for completing verification when required, purchasing or carrying items only in accordance with agreed deal terms, providing purchase or delivery proof when requested, delivering agreed items, and complying with applicable customs, import, airline, and travel regulations — including duties, taxes, declaration requirements, and quantity limits.

Travelers must not purchase items before customer payment is confirmed on the platform when platform rules require confirmed payment first.

Travelers act on their own behalf and are solely responsible for deciding whether a request can lawfully be purchased, carried, declared, and delivered.

Customs and Import Restrictions

Users are solely responsible for understanding and complying with Egyptian import rules, customs duties, taxes, declaration requirements, quantity limits, and restricted or prohibited goods categories.

Shiply does not guarantee that any item may legally enter Egypt or clear customs. Seizure, delay, inspection, additional charges, refusal of entry, or confiscation by customs or other authorities may occur even when a deal is active on the platform.

Customers and travelers must not use Shiply to request, offer, purchase, carry, or deliver items that are illegal, dangerous, restricted, counterfeit, or otherwise prohibited under applicable law.

Airline and Travel Compliance

Travelers are solely responsible for complying with airline, airport, security, baggage, hazardous materials, and travel documentation rules that apply to their trip.

Shiply does not control airline schedules, baggage policies, screening decisions, route changes, cancellations, or enforcement actions by carriers or airport authorities.

A traveler's ability to carry an item may depend on weight, size, value, packaging, route, and carrier rules. Travelers should confirm that an item can lawfully and practically be transported before accepting a deal.

Verification

Shiply may require travelers to submit identity, passport, and flight-related documentation. Verification decisions are made at Shiply's discretion and may be approved, rejected, suspended, or revoked if documents are invalid, expired, incomplete, or misleading.

Verification is intended to reduce platform risk, but it does not guarantee user identity, conduct, delivery performance, or legal compliance. Users should still review profiles, reviews, and deal terms carefully.

Payments and Escrow

Customer payments may be held in Shiply escrow until deal milestones are met. Release of funds depends on platform rules, proof submission, delivery confirmation, and platform review where applicable.

Shiply may delay, reverse, or withhold payouts when fraud, disputes, chargebacks, policy violations, or incomplete deal steps are suspected.

Payment processing may involve third-party payment providers. Shiply is not responsible for failures, delays, or errors caused by banks, card networks, payment processors, or other financial institutions outside our reasonable control.

Reviews

Users may leave ratings and reviews after completed deals. Reviews must be honest and relevant to the transaction. Shiply may remove or moderate reviews that violate platform policies.

Reviews reflect individual user opinions and experiences. They are not endorsements, guarantees, or statements by Shiply about any user or product.

Prohibited Items and Uses

Users may not use Shiply for illegal, dangerous, restricted, counterfeit, stolen, or otherwise prohibited goods or activities.

Shiply may remove listings or requests, cancel or restrict deals, and suspend or terminate accounts involved in prohibited or high-risk activity.

Force Majeure

Shiply is not responsible for delays, failures, or non-performance caused by events outside our reasonable control. These may include flight delays or cancellations, airline or airport actions, customs inspections or seizures, government orders, travel restrictions, payment provider outages, natural disasters, severe weather, strikes, supply shortages, store unavailability, telecommunications failures, or other force majeure events.

Where a deal is affected by such events, users should communicate through the platform and follow applicable dispute or cancellation processes. Shiply may assist with platform-level review, but we do not guarantee recovery of costs, replacement goods, or compensation beyond what our policies allow.

Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse other users, submit false verification documents, circumvent platform payments or escrow, create legal or operational risk, or harm the marketplace.

You may stop using Shiply at any time. You may also request account closure through the platform or our Contact page, subject to retention of records needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Suspension or termination decisions are made to protect the marketplace. Where appropriate, users may contact us through the Contact page to request review.

Disputes Between Users

If a deal goes wrong, users should communicate inside Shiply and provide relevant proof. Shiply may review disputes and apply platform rules, but we do not act as a court, customs authority, airline, or legal arbitrator.

Shiply may request documents, messages, payment records, or delivery proof and may adjust escrow status or account access according to platform policies. Our role is limited to operating the marketplace and applying the rules described in these Terms.

Disclaimer

Shiply provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shiply disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Shiply does not guarantee the quality, authenticity, safety, legality, or delivery of any product, nor the conduct or reliability of any user.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shiply is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from user deals, travel delays, customs actions, airline decisions, product defects, or third-party payment problems.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shiply's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of: (a) the platform fees you paid to Shiply for the relevant deal, if any; or (b) EGP 500.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those cases, the above limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shiply, its founders, employees, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the platform, your deals with other users, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law, including customs, import, or travel rules.

Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update features, fees, policies, and these Terms as Shiply evolves. Material changes will be posted on the platform or communicated through reasonable notice methods.

Continued use of Shiply after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the platform.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection rules in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or the platform should first be raised through our Contact page. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to the competent courts in Egypt, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
