Shiply Egypt ("Shiply," "we," "us," or "our") operates a marketplace that connects travelers with customers who want products brought from abroad into Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices available to you.

By using Shiply, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the platform, and limited technical data needed to operate the service securely.

  • Account registration details such as name, email, and phone number
  • Profile information you choose to add
  • Messages and deal-related communication inside Shiply
  • Verification documents submitted by travelers
  • Payment proof, purchase receipts, and deal milestone uploads
  • Reviews, ratings, and moderation-related submissions
  • Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, and log timestamps

Account Information

When you create an account, we store credentials and profile details needed to identify you on the marketplace, display your public profile, and operate your deals.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the activity that occurs under your account.

Verification Information

Travelers may submit identity, passport, and flight-related documents for platform review. These files are used to assess verification eligibility and traveler trust signals.

Verification documents are access-controlled and reviewed only by authorized Shiply personnel or service providers acting on our instructions. We do not publish raw verification files on public profiles.

Payment Information

Shiply facilitates escrow-style payment flows. Depending on the payment method in use, we may receive payment references, transfer screenshots, payout details, or transaction status information submitted by users or payment partners.

We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers when payments are handled by third-party providers. Any payment data we retain is limited to what is needed to verify deals, process payouts, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes.

Review Information

After completed deals, customers and travelers may submit ratings and written reviews. Review content may appear on profiles and marketplace listings to help other users make informed decisions.

Reviews may be moderated according to platform rules.

Notifications

We send in-app and email notifications about account activity, deal updates, verification status, payments, and platform messages. You may receive essential service notifications even if optional marketing messages are limited.

Notification preferences may be expanded over time as the product evolves.

Cookies and Analytics

Shiply uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used.

We may use basic analytics to measure page performance, feature usage, and error rates. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to operate the marketplace, authenticate users, facilitate deals, process payments and escrow steps, review verification submissions, moderate content, prevent fraud, provide support, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.

We may also use information to enforce our Terms, investigate disputes, and protect the safety and integrity of the platform.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below or with your direction.

  • With other users, when needed to operate a deal — for example, profile details, messages, delivery information, and review content
  • With payment providers and financial partners that help process customer payments, escrow steps, and traveler payouts
  • With infrastructure, hosting, authentication, email, analytics, and security providers that help us run the platform
  • With authorized Shiply personnel and advisors who need access for support, verification review, moderation, fraud prevention, or dispute handling

  • When necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of Shiply, our users, or others

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You should use a strong password, keep your login details private, and notify us through the Contact page if you believe your account has been compromised.

Data Retention

We retain account, deal, verification, payment, messaging, and review records for as long as needed to operate the marketplace, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.

When information is no longer required for these purposes, we delete or anonymize it where reasonably possible.

Account Deletion and Data Requests

You may request account deletion through the platform or our Contact page. If you delete your account, we will deactivate it and stop using your information for active marketplace operations, subject to retention limits described below.

We may retain certain information after account deletion where necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, maintain financial and deal records, or protect platform integrity. This may include verification records, payment references, deal history, and moderation logs.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information. You can update much of your profile information directly in the app. For other requests, contact us through the Contact page and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's Privacy

Shiply is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a user under 18, we may delete the account and associated information.

International Users and Travelers

Shiply is operated from Egypt and serves users connecting across international travel routes. If you access the platform from outside Egypt, your information may be processed in Egypt and in other countries where our service providers operate.

By using Shiply, you understand that information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may have different data protection rules than your home country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the platform or communicated through reasonable notice methods.

Continued use of Shiply after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
